Tina Minkowitz, Mette Ellingsdalen, Liv Skree and Cedric are also here, and we are having a good time together. It’s like I know Liv for years, but it has actually been several hours. It is really great to be with soulmates, who never get bored of talking about psychiatry and activism. It is totally inspiring.
Yesterday I travelled about all day. I started at 13.00 by taking a bus to Eindhoven centre, then several trains to Amsterdam (including 1 delay, 1 fake emergency brake, 1 railroad maintenance, 1 misinformation and 2 extra transfers), then a plane to Geneva and a train to Morges and then by car to Ballens. When I arrived at the house at 21.30, there was a delicious home-cooked dinner waiting. That was really wonderful. And then we talked and talked and talked and then it was largely past 3.00 AM before we went to bed.
Today, on Sunday, we basically didn’t do anything special, except chatting and working on our laptops, and having a good time. The house has turned from a quiet holiday living into a kind of student house. Sometimes everyone is concentrated and working, and sometimes we discuss things, which results in more chats about so many aspects of the user/survivor movement. It is really so great to talk with peers. In the evening we had another very nice and cosy meal together (6 little pans to melt raclette cheese with a meat grill on top). And then of course we had more chats until it was late and time to go to bed “early” around 1.00. (I didn’t sleep very long this morning)
Tomorrow we will have to travel 1 hour by car to go to Geneva, and we need to be at Palais Wilson around 9-ish. So I will go off to sleep now. I really had a relaxing inspiring day today.
